Congratulations to Coach Anthony Abruzzo and the Men’s 14U Fords Bearcats Basketball team for winning the Mayor’s Basketball Tournament against the Woodbridge Wizards. The Fords Bearcats came out a little slow but the resilience and “never give up” attitude our coaches instill into these kids really came out in the 2nd half. Fords Bearcats were able to take the lead and hold onto to it to win the game 54-51.

Also, congratulations goes out to Elijah Lane for winning the MVP of the game! .

Way to go Fords Bearcats Basketball!!

AYF Florida Nationals - Jr Pee Wee

Posted by Fords Bearcats at Dec 10, 2016 12:47PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Congratulations goes out to the Fords Bearcats Jr Pee Wee team for coming in 2nd place at the 2016 AYF Florida Nationals! They started out the week by beating the Deanwood Cowboys (NC) by a score of 52-6. They then regrouped and beat the Derita Warriors (NC) by a score of 42-0. These two wins catapulted them into the JR Pee Wee AYF National Championship game against the Secret Society Saints (MD). The game was a very physical and defensive game with a score of 7-6 up until the 4th Qtr. Unfortunately, the Bearcats lost a key part of their offensive (QB) and ended the game with a 19-6 loss.

Despite the loss the Fords Youth Association and AYF East are very proud of our Jr Pee Wees and all they have accomplished this season by earning the title of AYF JR PEE WEE STATE CHAMPIONS and 2ND RUNNER UP for the AYF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS! Great job by the players, coaches, and parents!!

AYF Florida Nationals - Mitey Mights

Posted by Fords Bearcats at Dec 10, 2016 12:28PM PST ( 0 Comments )

The Fords Bearcats Mitey Mights played two very physical games this week at the AYF Florida Nationals. The first game was against the South Fork Panthers (NC) and the second game was against the Winston Salem Indians (NC). Though our Mitey Mights lost both games the Coaches, parents, and AYF East Officials were very proud to have them representing the AYF East Division.

They ended their regular season at 7-1 with their only loss coming against Manalapan during the last game of the season. The Fords Youth Association is really looking forward to seeing what this team can accomplish next season!! Congratulations to all!!
